I read this post by Tayari Jones and it got me thinking about things I want to do for the first time.  I’m still thinking and I read the post by Professor Jones days ago. 

It’s not often that adults do things for the first time.  Last year, I became a father for the first time.  That experience takes the cake and icing for me.  The year before that I sat in a room filled with women talking about love and romance, a first.  A couple years ago I took a long train trip, sitting a rolling car for 40 hours and I’d never done that before. 

As I look at 2011, I’m stuck for now thinking what I’ll do for the first time.  Any ideas?  It’s a fun thing to consider.  Will you do anything for the first time this year?  Maybe I can come up with something after hearing your ideas.
